Home Away From Home!

Chayse had another field trip, this time it was at her home away from home. The hospital and more specifically the emergency room! She went with her preschool and her best buddy Reece is who is in the photo with her. It was fun for her to see the different parts of the hospital without actually having to be the patient. A little ways through our tour she started complaining again that her neck hurt. Deciding I better check it out, given our families history with Strep Throat, I took a quick peak and confirmed that she did have strep. So after leaving the hospital tour, we took Reece and her mom, Kelly, back to the preschool and made the very familiar drive to our doctors office. After a quick check, we were on our way to get medicine. The last photo is on the way home. I guess everything was starting to catch up with my little Scooter... yes that is her doctors office sucker hanging out of her mouth! What a little trooper!

What a cute little cowgirl I have!! I walked outside to check on Cam and Chayse as they were loading hay and couldn't resist taking a picture of my cute little girl!
Her favorite place to be is right by her Dad outside. She was a little frustrated today though, because she didn't know where her gloves were!

Post Office Field Trip

Chayse got to go on her first field trip yesturday! It was very exciting! She loves to go to the Post Office anyway, so to go in the back and see how everything works made her very happy! They learned what they do with the mail when it gets to Emmett, they even got to pretend they were letters on take a ride on the card and lifting platform. They also got to see different things the Mail Carriers wear and how they sort the mail to get it to the right house. They had a special Valentine card that they made for their families that they got to mail. On thier way out they got stamped with the postmark date so they could go anywhere in the world! I think Disneyland was the top desination! Here are a couple of pictures, my camera died and so did my phone so... they aren't the best but atleast it's somewhat documented right!!

Career Day for Chayse..

Chayse is always so interested in the happenings at the Dentist office. While we were there this summer, they decided she could help with the assitant duties! She was so excited about it I had to get a picture. It will be interesting to see what she will become when she grows up! (Crea is the patient, getting a tooth pulled)

Lazy, Hazy Summer Days

Is this not the cutest picture! This is how my kids have spent some of the summer. My Friend, Kirsten, opened a Nutrition Club that myself and Nan help run. The kids get to hang out alot there and are always such troopers (and good dishwashers!) Here is Chayse doing sidewalk chalk outside the front door. Chloe is in the background playing her DS. I love our small little Main Street.

Here we go to the ER again....

After lecture our older kids that it isn't very smart to put things in your nose no matter how big or small to shoot them out- Chayse started saying "Ouch..Ouch" after assessing the situation I realized I should have been talking to her! She had taken part of her plastic bag off her Subway toy and shoved it up her nose! In the process of trying to get it out she had shoved it as far up there as it would go... After Cam worked on it for awhile with no progress we decided that it was time to go to the ER... again... We had taken Chayse just the week before to get a penicilian shot because she kept throwing up her Strep Throat medicine. The Doctor got some foot long tweezers and had it out within a few seconds. What a silly girl we have! We are glad she is not permantly scarred this time!!

Rest in Peace Tweety...

A very sad Chayse informed me today that Tweety died. After further questioning I found out that Tweety was her imaginary friend! Tweety was a small blackbird and his beak was "black like his self". It was the cutest thing ever. Apparently, Tweety lived at our old house and then came to this house and then died today. There is nothing more tragic than a child loosing thier imaginary friend.

Mamma Mia..

So, like everyone else in the world our family is completely obsessed with Mamma Mia! Chayse sings the songs off the soundtrack all day long and usually at the top of her lungs. One of the songs she was singing today touched my heart and I had to share my feelings about it! It goes: "Slipping through my fingers all the time, I try to capture every minute, the feeling in it, slipping through my fingers all the time..." One of my biggest frustrations in life is people who don't realize how important every second is. Every single experiance in life whether good or bad should be cherished. This is always on my mind this time of year... and with my little family growing so quickly I do cherish every minute... yes, even the minutes I am counting to ten so I don't beat my kids to death!!
"Live each moment as your last" is truly the greatest advice ever! When my kids argue, the main thing I try to teach them to remember is..."Is it worth it?" I tell them is this really going to matter tomorrow? Is making your sister feel bad and seeing her cry really going solve this situation?
Please cherish every minute... it does slip through your fingers all the time, whether it is a life cut short or a child simply becoming an adult. Realize each moment is a gift and should be treated as such.
